Don Taylor

Don Taylor is the senior regional vice president, North Region, for Core & Main. Taylor is responsible for sales growth, profitability and operational excellence in the states of Colorado, Idaho, Iowa, Michigan, Minnesota, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, Northern Illinois, South Dakota, Wisconsin and Wyoming. Core & Main is a leading distributor of waterworks and fire protection infrastructure products in the U.S.

Taylor joined the company in 1983. He has spent his entire career with Core & Main and its legacy companies including HD Supply Waterworks and Hughes Supply. He started in inventory control progressing up through the organization as inside sales representative, outside sales representative, branch manager and district manager. In 1999, Taylor was named regional vice president, West Region, in addition to leading the Fire Protection business, until 2007, when he was named regional vice president, North Region. Taylor has led and integrated 10 acquisitions into Core & Main including eight waterworks and two fire protection businesses.

Taylor played an instrumental role in the start-up of the Fire Protection business in the 1990s, while simultaneously leading the West Region. Through acquisition, Fire Protection now has a national footprint serving customers coast to coast. Taylor developed the vision for Core & Main’s product knowledge and fusible pipe training classes and was integral in the rollout of these courses to develop talent inside the organization.

Taylor attended University of Central Florida. He is an active member of industry organizations including National Utility Contractors Association, Association of General Contractors, and Water and Sewer Distributors of America.
